"Singing", by Gelissa Phillips
I live for the thrill of singing The joy it was always bringing I sat on my bed Music filled my head And my heart went on a ringing Ah, when I hear my voice Humming to my song of choice I felt all better Warmer than any old sweater I was sad but it filled up the void |
"A Merry Storm", by Mnieq Polk
Once there was a couple; from god Who stuck together despite all odds Appeared giddy; to some As their love blossomed They were in fact, two peas in a pod. Then on one viscous cloudy day A storm of jealousy came their way Hearts were choking Ugly words spoken Words that couples should never say. Away in which they both ran Except this time, not hand in hand Tears were soaken Vows were broken Torn apart; their merry land Then on one faithful evening day The Jealousy storm went away Apologies were given, Consideration; revision The blossoming pathway clear as day. Now they both stand in the sand White veil, white gloves on hand Listening to singers, Rings on their fingers, Reunited; their merry land. |
