Identity: Lack Thereof

Everyone wants to be
Like everyone else
Concerned only with others
And not with yourself
Your brain becomes poor
Where there could potentially be
An abundance of mental wealth

Take a minute and
THINK
How many of your choices are yours, alone?
Society encourages conformity
Which can only make you a clone

Thus stripping your identity
With promises
Of never being alone

You don’t understand
That they influence you so much
They can force your hand

And you let them.

You wish to run with the crowd
And leave all your doubts
Yet in the midst of it all
Your voice runs out

However your doubts were doubts
For a reason
The crowd can be so misleading
As you discard your morals and hopes
Your soul dies of Treason
